ORGANIC COTTON

On average, every 3 kg of cotton requires up to 1 kg of pesticides to combat cotton pests. Cotton is used to make fabric, which is then made into clothes, and many chemicals—such as fluorescent agents and dyes—are used in the textile dyeing process. This may increase the risk of cancer if the chemicals come into contact with the skin or are inhaled over a long period. Organic cotton does not use pesticides and chemical fertilizers, does not harm the soil, does not use heavy metals, fluorescent bleach, or formaldehyde. It does not contain harmful chemicals, and it is not refined or bleached, instead only hot water is used to form the fabric.
